Hydroponic greenhouse launched In Uzbekistan

A new contemporary greenhouse with an acreage of 4 ha has been launched in the Dangarin region of the Fergana area. The hydroponic greenhouse will be growing tomatoes and cucumbers.

The construction of the greenhouse complex belonging to LLC Ideal Mustang Plus was completed at the end of 2021. The overall cost of the project amounted to $2.5 million. The planned overall production capacity should reach 600 tons for tomatoes and 200 tons for cucumbers. Currently, the growers are getting ready for the first tomato crop yield.

In all, over 250 ha of greenhouses have been constructed in Fergana area within 2017-2021. As of the end of 2021, the overall greenhouse acreage in the area amounted to 311 ha, of which 84 ha with hydroponics. Thus, from the beginning of 2017 to the end of 2021 the overall acreage of greenhouses in Fergana is has increased 5.2 times.

In 2021, 398 contemporary greenhouses have been built in Uzbekistan with an overall acreage of 797 ha and overall investments in the amount of $212.4 million.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of the end of 2021, the overall greenhouse acreage in Uzbekistan reached 5.5 thousand ha.
