Dutch wholesaler now has local cucumbers available every day

"Many open ends at cucumber season's start"

From today in the Netherlands, Witkamp will have local cucumbers available every day. Erik van Gentevoort is optimistic about the season. "There aren't many Spanish cucumbers, and prices are good."

"But it's a very open-ended season. Nobody knows what gas and electricity prices will do. It's really a wait-and-see to how the market will progress. Costs have risen sharply. So, trade prices will rise slightly too. The question is whether consumers will pay for that," he concludes.
