The province of Huelva, the main blueberry producing area in Spain, reached €1.24 million in fruit and vegetable exports during the period January-October 2021. This area represents almost a quarter of the total exported by Andalusia (24.5% of the total), increasing sales abroad by 9%.
Andalusia, the independent community of which Huelva is a part, generates two out of every five euros of Spain's fruit and vegetable exports. During the mentioned period, it exported €5.002 million, a sales record since records were kept (1995), increasing by 3.8% compared to the period in 2020.
The products that were exported the most in the region of Andalusia were peppers (632 million) and strawberries (541 million), whose sales grew by 17.5%, the largest increase within the 10 best-selling agro-industrial products in the region. Tomatoes, cucumber, raspberries, avocados, courgettes and watermelons complete the list.
