Roadmap to strengthen the vegetables sector in Benin, Africa

Recently a research regarding the vegetable sector in Benin has been finalized by Recilience BV and commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. The outcome of the study is now available. The report describes the overall situation of the horticulture sector, identifies stakeholders, and describes policies and programs to develop the sector.

Most important opportunities and bottlenecks are identified and based on selected criteria, a top-five of the most promising vegetables is selected, including a detailed analysis of the related value chains.

For these specific value chains, bottlenecks for Private Sector Development (PSD) and opportunities for Business Development (BD) in the horticulture sector in Benin are identified; where relevant through Dutch knowledge, technologies, and expertise.

The study gives recommendations for funding opportunities and presents four business cases of the value chain that can be further developed.
