Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat:

'Jordan reached agreement with Lebanon on exchanging agro exports without previous licensing'

Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat has stated that the Agriculture Ministries of Jordan and Lebanon have agreed on exchanging agro exports without previous licensing, hoping to facilitate the task of farmers whose work is linked to the dollar exchange rates.

Hneifat said that within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to increase agricultural exports and establish trade relations with countries on the basis of mutual benefit and reciprocity in the exchange of agricultural products, priority was given to importing bananas during the period of supplementary import from Lebanon in exchange for importing vegetables from Jordan.

The Ministry, Hneifat added, has urged Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables to communicate with their Lebanese counterparts in order to export Jordanian agricultural products to Lebanon without prior licenses.
