Turkmenistan exported more than 51,300 tons of tomatoes in the first 11 months of 2021

Turkmenistan Business News reported on January 3 that from January to November 2021, Turkmenistan exported more than 51,300 tons of greenhouse tomatoes, with a total value of more than 56 million US dollars, and the main destinations were Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and the United Arab Emirates.

In the first 11 months of 2021, Turkmenistan exported more than 32,000 tons of tomatoes to Russia, becoming Russia's fourth-largest source of tomato imports.  Tomatoes from Turkmenistan were mainly exported to Moscow City, Moscow Oblast, St. Petersburg City, Ural, and other Russian local entities.

The vegetable export in Turkmenistan is increasing year by year, with 36,400 tons of vegetables in 2019 and 44,600 tons in 2020, of which the main export product is tomatoes. In the 2021-2022 season, Turkmenistan plans to grow 500 hectares of tomatoes and is expected to harvest 85,000 tons of tomatoes.
