Over 1,000 plastic greenhouses built in Tianjin, China to grow high-end fruit and vegetable

This winter, Tianjin, China, has actively started the construction of facility agriculture with more than 1,000 new plastic greenhouses to be built to grow high-end fruit and vegetable. It is expected that the new greenhouse will be operational in the coming spring.

At the fruit and vegetable greenhouse base of Dehu Crop Planting Cooperative in Shuangjie Town, 1100 greenhouses have been erected and ready to have the film installed. According to the Head of the cooperative, the construction of these greenhouses started at the end of October 2021, and it is expected to be completed by April 2022. The cooperative plans to introduce new varieties of fruits and vegetables such as Boyang melon. To this end, the cooperative has also renovated some of the completed greenhouses by installing three layers of the insulation film to enhance the thermal insulation effect, so that they can breed in winter and prepare for sowing in spring.

Sun Dehu, the person in charge, said, "After finishing the construction of these greenhouses, we are ready to contract them to villagers to plant vegetables, Boyang melons, and unicorn melons, which can increase farmers' income.”
