Belgian researchers harvest first red bell peppers before Christmas

Researchers at Groenteteelt's trail farm in Belgium have never been able to harvest red bell peppers before Christmas; Tte recent harvest from a lit cultivation trial is, therefore, unique at the farm. The red peppers grew under Fluence lighting. In the study, researchers compare different light spectra with and without far-red light and examine the effect on production, plant development, and fruit quality.

A first for PSKW: red bell peppers before Christmas! At the trial farm, we, in collaboration with the lighting specialist Fluence, are doing light research on bell peppers. We compare different light spectra - with and without far-red - and study its effect on production, plant development, and fruit quality. We have learned much from this study so far, and it's recently come into full production. We've never harvested red bell peppers before Christmas. That means we're celebrating this unique experience at the trial farm.
