Recently, the 22nd Guangzhou Expo of New Vegetable Varieties and the Chinese Tomato Seed Industry Alliance Conference opened at the Nansha Headquarters Base of Guangzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Nearly 800 new tomato varieties appeared on the scene, setting a new record.
The exhibition will last for one month, with an on-site demonstration scale of 20 hectares, including an open field display area of over 16 hectares and a greenhouse display area of 3 hectares. For the first time, the exhibition joined hands with the Chinese Tomato Seed Industry Alliance to participate in the exhibition, bringing a record-high number of new tomato varieties displayed to Guangzhou.
During the exhibition, there will be activities such as a vegetable-themed photography exhibition, a vegetable product exhibition, industry meetings, vegetable tasting, and an urban small vegetable garden display.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Expo in Guangzhou began in 2011. In those 10 years, 21 sessions have been successfully held. It has accumulated more than 30,000 new vegetable varieties and supported technology integration from national scientific research institutions and seed industry enterprises, selected more than 1,500 outstanding varieties recommended by experts, and provided all kinds of information such as supply and demand on the vegetable market, planting requirements, and the latest technologies.
