Eight out of ten zucchinis that Spain exported in the 2020/2021 season originated from Almeria, as this region produced 80.97% of the 448.45 million kilos of zucchinis that the country exported in the last season.
According to data produced by Hortoinfo, Almeria exported 363.11 million kilos of zucchinis (56.21% more than ten campaigns ago) with a value of €324.68 million and an average price of € 0.89/kg, the highest in the last four seasons.
It was followed by Murcia, which exported 17.61 million kilos (3.93% of the Spanish total) for €13.63 million and an average price of €0.77/kg.
The province of Valencia ranked third with 16.03 million kilos worth €19.91 million and an average price of €1.24/kg.
Alicante ranked fourth with 11.04 million kilos worth €12.03 million and an average price of €1.09/kg.
Finally, Barcelona closed the top 5 ranking after exporting 9.44 million kilos for €7.74 million and an average price of €0.82/kg.
