German restaurants are growing their own produce

At De Kas in Amsterdam, you can dine out among greenhouses. In around 2000, it was considered to be one of the very first farm-to-fork restaurants in the Netherlands, and now, a few years later, even restaurant formulas such as Vapiano, La Place, and Subway started cultivating their own herbs.

They do so indoors in pots, flower boxes, and small vertical growing vitrines. Although that may have been just a bit of window-dressing, this development is definitely continuing, according to Foodinspiration.com.

These clips show restaurants in Berlin, Germany, that have vertical gardens.
