Gruppo Libretti at Cibus 2021

Horticultural sector feeling somewhat optimistic

"We decided to take part in Cibus with a stand of over 40 sq m because we want to restart and go back to normality. The entire area is dedicated to our products, starting with the premium range," explains Giuseppe Libretti, CEO at Gruppo Libretti.

"This year, we opted for a slogan that expresses our work, i.e. 'from fresh to processed produce just a few hours after harvesting' in line with capillary traceability. We felt the need to stress a concept we had taken for granted, but which is actually a peculiarity when it comes to tomato sauces."

"And what better way to provide proof of our high quality than have buyers and stakeholders taste our products directly? We are in fact working with a professional chef who is organizing continuous show cooking events using our premium products. The most popular dishes are those with a mix of colorful plum tomatoes: a wealth of color that appeals to both the palate and the eye. Feedback has been great from the start."

"Attending events once again is a thrill we are sharing with our guests. Everybody is positive and we are hoping things will improve from now on. We are doing our best and, ever since the start of the pandemic, we have been safeguarding our safety and that of our collaborators."

"When it comes to production, we are registering high prices due to the lack of produce, especially for commodities. Ordinary production is slightly late, but our crops follow different dynamics - our trend is growing also thanks to our 60 years of experience."

Gruppo Libretti was established as a farm in 1950, part of a culture that managed to quickly renew itself over the years while keeping authentic agriculture alive. The meticulous search for the ideal period for sowing, caring and harvesting represented a gratification that could fill an existence.

Over the years, the company evolved but became aware of the fact it wanted to treasure its knowledge to valorize the horticultural heritage and face the market as a true protagonist.
