Agricultural trade between Russia and Vietnam has increased by 8%

Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, and Dang Minh Khoi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Russia, held a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The discussion covered agricultural trade, cooperation in veterinary and phytosanitary inspection, and the implementation of joint investment projects.

Vietnam is a strategic partner for Russia in the agricultural sector. Trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs has accounted for about 15% of total trade between the countries in recent years. Meanwhile, the pace of cooperation development continues to grow. Mutual supplies have increased by 8% to 558 million dollars in the first seven months of the year.

The meeting also discussed opening the Vietnamese market to new types of Russian livestock products and the mutual expansion of the exporting companies list. Among other topics were the opportunity to organise direct deliveries of Russian wheat to Vietnamese processing enterprises, and the implementation of projects by the Vietnamese TH True Milk Group in the Moscow and Kaluga regions and Primorye Territory.
