US (WI): $425k loan approved to launch farm operations

An indoor urban farm planned for Milwaukee’s Century City business park was approved for a $425,000 loan to help launch its operation. Hundred Acre is a food-tech incubator that aims to bring hyper-local fresh greens.

The loan was approved by MEDC, a local lender, to help finance the $855,000 Hundred Acre LLC startup indoor farm at Century City Business Park.

According to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Hundred Acre was founded by Chris Corkery, who's also the founder and chief executive officer of New York-based Planet to Plate Inc. — a branding platform for indoor hydroponic farms.

The Milwaukee farm is growing fresh greens, including holy basil, spring mix and baby kale, within an industrial building at 3945 N. 31st St.
