Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD) organized a Dutch fact-finding mission to Yucounty, by invitation of their strategic partner; the Yucounty government, and supported by HX Agriculture partners of DGD. The mission, in which 11 representatives of Dutch horticulture participated, took place on 5 and 6 July 2021.
Yucounty is located in the South West of Zhangjiakou city, at the boundary of the Shanxi province and Beijing city, among the mountains. This location provides them with premium natural resources and climate conditions for agriculture. Characteristics of these weather conditions are clear air condition, long sunlight, less rain, and big temperature difference in the day and night. Conditions that fit in well with what the Dutch horticultural ecosystem can offer.
Yucounty has been interested to cooperate with DGD since their visit to the Netherlands in 2019. During the visit of the Mayor of Yucounty Mr. Ruige Liu, accompanied by Aerospace group, has signed a MOU with DGD. The Dutch horticulture impressed the local officials in Yucounty and both the Dutch and Chinese have the intention to cooperate further in order to help Yucounty to develop modern Dutch horticulture.
