A man in Lanzarote grew a giant cucumber that weighs eight kilos and is one meter long

A man in Haria, Lanzarote, has managed to grow an incredibly big cucumber: it weighs more than 8 kilos, it's one meter long, and has a diameter of nearly 15 centimeters. According to its owner, it could be the second-largest cucumber in the Guinness Book of Records so far.

The cucumber is of the Fujur variety and it won't be used to make stews, but to extract its seeds given the good quality, it presents, stated its owner, a well-known chef from Lanzarote. The rest of the fruit will be used to feed farm animals.

This renowned chef is fond of growing his own products, which he uses to supply his restaurant in Arrecife. This isn't the first time that he has managed to grow fruit or vegetables of disproportionate sizes. Some years ago, he had managed to grow onions of nearly half a kilo in weight.
