"The viewer gets a feel for our company in 1.5 minutes"

Last year Robbert and Maurijn Duijndam took over the helm at Duijndam Machines as the next generation. Where father Bert started with the sale of a sprout harvester, the machine market today also demands online action.

A good reason for the second generation in the family business to launch an animated video. In 1.5 minutes, the viewer gets to see what the process looks like within the company.

Long IJ
"Many Dutch growers already know us and are reasonably aware of our process", says Maurijn Duijndam. Internationally that is sometimes not the case. "We often get questions like: How does it work exactly? Are all the machines on your website really yours? And are all those machines on your website really at one location? Have the machines been checked?"

The company name is a little difficult to pronounce in some countries, as well. In English, for example, they don't understand the 'long IJ'. "That is why the animated video is also a good moment to introduce the company name," he laughs.

On the basis of trust
Nevertheless, over the years Duijndam Machines has become a real international player. On average they have 1000 machines in stock in Dutch town Nieuwerkerk a/d IJssel and about 4 of them leave their factory every day. In all cases, they are preceded by a thorough check to make sure they are in good working order, and repairs are carried out where necessary. What is special is that nowadays the majority of machines are purchased on the basis of trust and no prior inspection by the customer takes place.

Familiar faces
A nice detail in the short video is therefore that, for those who look closely, both the buyer/seller and the mechanic in the animated video are inspired by real people on the shop floor. The animator has based the buyer/seller in the video on Maurijn and the mechanic also shows traits of the versatile Marcel Spruijt, who has been working for Duijndam Machines for thirty years. "We think that this short video will give every customer a reliable picture of our company. Because the need for quickly available, reliable and cost-saving machines is certainly there."

Due to the company's international clientele, the video is spoken and subtitled in English, German and French. In addition, for Russian, Polish, Italian and Spanish customers, there is a special subtitled English language version.
