Pepper growers Ewout and Wibo Valstar from De Lier are selling their company to fellow pepper grower Kwekerij Overgraag. This was decided this last May. The growers from De Lier wanted to sell their greenhouse on the Hooflaan to a pepper grower and managed to successfully do so (within a week).
Within one week
After having grown at the Hooflaan for over 60 years it's time for new challenges for the brothers from De Lier.
Estate agent Ruud Kouwenhoven of Kouwenhoven Vastgoed Advies was asked to put the location on the market by the family and armed with a nice brochure, he visited the neighbours. The deal was signed within the week. Soon, by the end of the season, the face of the building will read 'Kwekerij Overgaag'.
This signals the dawn of a new age for Ewout and Wibo. They are looking forward to new challenges and more free time. They are very grateful that the business will be continued by the owners of Kwekerij Overgaag. This means that the company on the Hooflaan will be continued to be used as it was before. That is what the brothers want the most. They are very happy with the process.
The collaboration between Ruud Kouwenhoven of Kouwenhoven Vastgoed Advies on behalf of W. Valstar and Arthur Vijverberg of Yeald, who acted as broker for Kwekerij Overgaag, were nice and relaxed. All parties have a good feeling about this step, they said in a press release.
Ewout and Wibo wish John, Gerrie and Wouter lots of fun at the Hooflaan and hope that they will harvest many kilos of beautiful (red) peppers there as well. They will certainly come back to have a look once in a while, they promise. Because the taste of a fresh pepper, just picked from the plant, remains the best there is.
