Leafy greens

E-book offers support during decision-making process of new packaging line

With the intent to help guide customers through the packaging decision-making process, JASA Packaging Solutions is introducing an e-book about packaging leafy greens.

“Traditional brochures address the machines we have and the advantages of these machines. But the e-book will help guide you through the steps of the decisions that need to be made around packaging,” says Sandra Somford of JASA Packaging Solutions Inc. based in Richmond, VA. “If you’re building a greenhouse and a lot of things are new for you, then the packaging part is probably also new so we’ll try to explain and guide you with the e-book.”

The new e-book is to help guide customers through the packaging decision-making process.

Somford says the idea came from talking with companies who are starting in the business. “They still have to build a greenhouse and we wanted to help them and make the packaging part as easy as possible,” she says. “We’re there for the longer term –  not just for a one-time packaging line. We see companies grow into their businesses. They start with a basic investment and then as their company grows, their output and packaging lines do as well and they need to make decisions.”

Indoor AgTech Innovation Summit
The company will launch the guide at the upcoming virtual Indoor AgTech Innovation Summit which takes place June 24-25. JASA Packaging is a first-time exhibitor at the show and Somford looks forward to starting out in the virtual arena. “We’ve been pretty successful with virtual shows in the past year. When you’re new in a market or country, it’s easier to show yourself virtually, especially if you don’t always have the biggest booth on the floor,” she says, noting that JASA is an Innovation Partner at this year’s show. “Also virtually getting in touch with people is pretty easy and we’ve made a lot of connections through this.”

At the upcoming AgTech Innovation Summit, JASA will show footage of its leafy greens packaging lines that have been introduced to the U.S. market.

Somford says she hopes to reconnect with those existing contacts at the show and, of course, cultivate new relationships as well. Along with the e-book introduction, visitors to JASA’s space will also see recently produced footage of JASA’s leafy greens packaging lines that have been introduced to the U.S. market. The footage can be seen as part of its “Innovation Tour: Packaging in Action” initiative on June 25th. The company will also host a round table on June 24th on “Innovation in Packaging: How to Accelerate Labor and Energy Efficiency.”
