Improved resistance and electrical connection with new cable branche

Stolze's growing light installations are made entirely in-house. The switch panels are assembled custom-made and the strand cabling is made to measure. To create the lighting strands, the company uses their own System (SLS), for which they recently improved the branching of the strands in terms of resistance and electrical connection.

Improved resistance and electrical connection
As with the previous version of the SLS, there are no interruptions to the supply cable of the luminaires thanks to branches that connect to the luminaire, making junction boxes superfluous.

"However, where we previously used a branch clamp with a cutting joint to create the branches, we are now welding the branch to the strand with an ultrasonic welding joint. As a result, the branch is much stronger and more robust, improving its resistance to mechanical stress,"  they say.

Thanks to the ultrasonic welding connection, the branches' transition resistance is also reduced. Of course, appearances are important too, so the improved branches now have a solid plastic jacket with a logo instead of a heat shrink tube, giving the branch a professional look.

High quality
All strands are tested after manufacturing, by applying high power to the cable. In addition, the strands are CE, UL and CSA certified, so the strands comply with European, American, and Canadian regulations. Since the strands are UV resistant, they can handle the sunlight in the greenhouse. What's more, the strands meet an IP64 rating, which indicates the degree of resistance to dust and moisture. An IP64 rating means that the branches are dust-free and splash-proof.

Saving time with prefab cabling
"Because we manage the entire lighting process in-house, all preparatory work is done in our workshop and all strands are labeled by the meter, we can make life easier for you with impressive time savings and convenience on-site," the company concludes.
