Nano trace elements advantages: stronger plants and sustainable use

Hortus recently entered into an exclusive partnership with B+H Solutions GmbH for the sale and distribution of Nano trace elements. "Nano trace elements strengthen plants, making them stronger and more resilient, and rendering a better structure and produce a greater yield per square meter. Nano trace elements are also sustainable in use," explains Frank Combee with Hortus.

Stronger plants thanks to nano trace elements
Nano trace elements are small nutrients that are easily absorbed into the capillaries of plants. This makes the absorption of nutrients such as iron, calcium, copper, and silver very effective. Even at higher or lower pH values, the nano trace elements are well absorbed by plants. Good absorption of these substances makes plants stronger and a strong plant is a resilient plant. As a result, plants get stronger and more resilient.

"Our different nano trace elements are each designed for the specific uptake of the substances. Copper increases resistance to everything. Calcium strengthens cell walls, allowing plants to retain moisture better, while iron leads to improved leaf color and leaf structure. And silver strengthens capillaries," Frank explains.

Higher production and yield
Plant resilience is crucial for consistent production and, of course, the value of plants in vegetable and ornamental production. "Our nano trace elements are widely used in vegetable and ornamental cultivation. Both sectors use our nano trace elements for higher production but the main purpose of both sectors differs. In vegetable cultivation, the main reason for working with our nano trace elements is that it gives plants better health. In ornamentals, the main reasons for applying our nano trace elements are better plant growth, more yield, and longer vase life," says Frank.

Nano trace elements are sustainable in use
Nano trace elements are specifically designed for optimal nutrient uptake by plants. "Compared to an iron chelate, for example, the application of nano trace elements is more effective and sustainable in use. The sustainability is in both use and transport, the effectiveness of our products translates to lower consumption in volume and therefore lower transport costs," Frank concludes.
