In this soilless agriculture greenhouse, in Kahramanmaras, in the south of Turky, an acreage of 1.1 hectares has started producing strawberries. The strawberries grown in this greenhouse are exported to 10 countries in addition to the domestic market and continuous production can be made throughout the year.
Grower Umit Ucar remarks: “Seeing the climatic conditions of our region, we made this investment. We wanted to increase the job opportunities of people in this region and to bring our strawberries to a wider audience. We also receive requests from abroad. The production of strawberry, which normally has a 6-month season, is extended to 12 months with soilless agriculture. We have produced 50 tons of strawberries so far and we expect 150 tons of harvest by the end of the year."
