Four projects with the overall cost of over 11 million euro are planned to be carried out in Kazakhstan this year. Thus, next year three greenhouses with planned production capacity of 5.3 thousand tons of vegetables a year should be launched. Two more complexes with the capacity of 1.5 thousand tons a year each should be launched in 2023.
Three more projects should start production in 2024. One of them should have the capacity of 3.6 thousand tons a year and another one will produce 600 tons of vegetables a year.
Two more greenhouses are planned to be launched in 2025. There construction should begin in 2023. It is expected that one of them will be producing 1.2 thousand tons of vegetables and the other one 600 tons a year.
According to the information from the regional government press service, the agricultural complexes are carried out by Kazakh investors. Once the complexes are launched, 380 working places will be created.
It is also worth mentioning that greenhouses construction has started in the agricultural industrial zone of Shymkent. Within the first stage in 2020-2021 a production greenhouse complex with the acreage of 30 ha will be built. The second phase, involving the construction of a 60 ha greenhouse will be carried over in 2022-2025. The overall project cost amounts to 40.7 million euro. After all the greenhouses are launched, over 1 thousand new working places will be created.
