Red Horticulture specializes in intelligent LED lighting systems to optimize plant growth. The French start-up based in Lyon has just raised 2.5 million euros [2.97 million USD].
Red Horticulture’s patented solution is the result of three years of R&D and agronomic trials. It combines LED lighting, artificial intelligence and software to control lighting strategies in real time. Thanks to this technology, the lighting can be modulated (intensity, time, quality), therefore offering up to 54% less energy consumption and up to 68% more yield in greenhouses.
Aiming to become the European leader in photobiology, the start-up has just raised 2.5 million euros [2.97 million USD] from Agrinnovation, a fund managed by the French private equity firm Demeter to “finance young innovative companies that contribute to the transition to a more sustainable agriculture and food.”
“This operation will allow us to accelerate the commercial development of our offer and to invest in R&D in order to deepen our distinctive agronomic expertise,” explains Yassine El Qomri, who co-founded the company with Louis Golaz.
