SAM Algeciras, Grupo Alonso's multimodal logistics platform located in the port of Algeciras is one step closer to becoming a strategic enclave for fruit and vegetable products in the Iberian Peninsula. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food authorized it to carry out cold treatments for perishables exports that will be exported outside the European Union. The exports will be sent to China, South Korea, Australia, the United States, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Israel, Canada, South Africa, and Hong Kong.
The license is valid until 2023 and it is the fourth license that the company has obtained in recent months. They had previously obtained the Authorized Economic Operator (OEAF) license in its full modality, which includes the entire logistics platform and all its services (warehouses, cold and dry warehouses, as well as workshops); the IFS (International Featured Standards) Logistic for the storage of food products at controlled temperatures; and the BIO certification for organic food in cold storage facilities, which is already being applied to fruit and vegetables.
