The Union of Free Associations has called self-employed parties, transporters, and workers of the primary sector to a national strike scheduled for Wednesday, February 24.
"Since these three sectors cannot get answers to their demands by themselves, they have decided, in an unprecedented event in Spain, to unify forces and stand up to the Government," the Union stated.
In Almería, a caravan will tour the city to support these sectors, starting and finishing at the Mediterranean Games Stadium.
“The national strike is the only solution to give us a voice and to make our problems, which have been aggravated by COVID-19, heard. This strike will consist of a motorized march in the provincial capitals of all Spain, which will begin in unison at 10:30 am. At that moment, the self-employed, transporters, and farmers will cease activities,” they stated.
At the end of the march, there will be rallies at the doors of the corresponding Government Sub-delegations, where the protestors will read a manifest and a list of claims to the corresponding authorities.
"Our goal isn't to cause a disruption. We want to raise awareness among the people about the serious problems we have, and ask them, among many other things, that the national product be consumed locally."
