patented cultivation solution now available to all growers

FruitHydroSinni: 'We turned a problem into a business opportunity'

The Italian company FruitHydroSinni, which specialises in growing and marketing crops obtained from hydroponic and aeroponic systems, is sharing its latest innovation with growers who are planning to start or have already started a hydroponic cultivation.

The company has been active in developing a system for nickel-free, histamine-free and heavy metal-free production of crops and processed products. Now they're launching their method of hydroponic cultivation, based on the Nutrient Film Technique.

"We own a patent on an invention that makes it possible to eliminate contamination by heavy metals and other harmful substances on fruit and vegetables by using vegetable processing techniques. It is the patent Method and device for hydroponics (registration number: 10201800009168)," said Anna Cirigliani, CEO of FruitHydroSinni and Ivan Santarcangelo, production manager and inventor of the patent.

"In recent years, we have achieved many successes, both in the agricultural and commercial field. The greatest satisfaction comes from offering solutions to people suffering from allergies and/or intolerances. This problem runs in the family and we turned it into our business."

"The growers will have to sign a license agreement to be able to use the patented method. Once this is done, they will be able to market the crops in their own commercial channels. The growers will automatically be included in a digital platform that will unite all companies and producers of Italian fruit and vegetables involved in hydroponic cultivation as well as the large-scale retail chains and wholesale markets."

Hydroponic farming brings many benefits, including a standardized production, standardisation of production, greater control of phytosanitary conditions and the root environment, low proliferation of parasites, fungi and bacteria, better management of plant nutrition, earlier ripening, a reduction in water consumption of up to 90% and reduced labour expenses.

"We have already entered into collaborations with some companies in the Metapontino area that showed interest in our project. Strawberries, raspberries, aubergines, artichokes, broccoli, onions, lettuce and many other crops can be grown using this system. We want to create a system of cooperation that is able to increase the value of all crops grown in hydroponic systems. We are trying to improve the processes and develop an effective communication strategy with the national and international market."
