COVID-19 has increased the need for fresh, safe, and affordable food across the globe. "We notice how the Dutch horticultural sector increasingly asks for integrated “Fork2Farm” solutions in increasingly complex environments," Eric Egberts with Dutch Greenhouse Delta shares.
Dutch Greenhouse Delta is a foundation that aims to promote the Dutch horticultural sector worldwide, focusing on complex, large-scale projects concerning food and floriculture issues in growing megacities.
"Of course, we fully support this development, but our partners inform us that there is increasing interference from other countries. We must remain focussed and ensure that our proposition and message correspond to the local target audiences and their needs."
For this purpose, DGD is cooperating closely with the teams at the embassies and country experts, and, of course, our partners.
"DGD was off to a good start in 2021, as we could welcome no fewer than four new partner companies. The introduction of Hoogendoorn Growth Management, Signify, Logiqs, and Koppert Biological Systems brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in all horticultural disciplines," Eric adds. "We are now working with no fewer than 25 partners, which enables us to collectively offer a horticultural Fork2Farm ecosystem consisting of science, entrepreneurship, education, and government."
