Cucumber and zucchini prices at origin fall again in Almeria

Looking at the prices published daily by Hortoinfo, and calculating an average of the different prices for each vegetable in the auctions of the province of Almería, it appears that the average price obtained for Almería-type cucumbers in week 51 was € 0.17/kg, compared to € 0.27/kg the previous week, which represents a fall of 37%.

It should be recalled that the production costs exceed 0.32 Euro per kilo. The average price of Almería cucumbers stood on December 14 at € 0.19/kg. On the 15th, the average price was € 0.18/kg, and on the next three days it fell to € 0.16/kg. A day later, on the 19th, the average price had fallen to € 0.15/kg.

As for zucchini, from week 50 to 51, the average price dropped by 27.66%, from € 0.47/kg in week 50 to € 0.34/kg in week 51.
