Spanish pepper exports have been record-breaking

Spanish pepper exports have reached unprecedented figures in the 2019/2020 campaign with the sale of 869.62 million kilos worth 1,199.02 million Euro, at an average price of € 1,379 / kg, according to data from the Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency).

The main pepper exporting province has been Almería, with 616.08 million kilos; 70.84% ​​of the total, followed by Murcia, with 124.47 million kilos (14.31%) and Valencia, with 40.14 million kilos (4.61%).

Top 5 destinations
Germany, France and the United Kingdom are the main buyers of Spanish peppers. Together, they account for 57.95% of the total volume.

Germany is the leading importer, with 279.88 million kilos worth 393.41 million Euro and an average price of € 1.406 / kg.

The second place on the ranking of the main buyers of Spanish peppers has been for France, with a total of 121.69 million kilos, 171.34 million Euro and an average price of € 1.408 / kg.

The third place corresponds to the United Kingdom, which bought 102.38 million kilos from Spain this past campaign and paid 139.4 million Euro, so the average price stood at € 1.362 / kg.

The fourth country in the ranking of the largest importers of Spanish peppers is the Netherlands, with 87.39 million kilos, 116.81 million Euro and an average price of € 1.337 / kg.

The fifth place is for Italy, with 61.33 million kilos, 68.49 million Euro and an average price of € 1.117 / kg.
