On July 31, 2020, Zhangye City, Haisheng Group, and Gansu Construction Investment (Holding) Group Corporation held a tripartite strategic cooperation signing ceremony for a demo greenhouse project in Lanzhou.
The Haisheng Modern Intelligent Greenhouse Industrialized Cultivation Ecological Demonstration Project is a major ecological industrialization project built by Zhangye City through the investment of Haisheng Group.
The project is planned to be constructed in three phases. The first phase is to build 5 modern smart greenhouses covering an area of over 166 hectares and 200,000 m2 in the Minle Ecological Industrial Park, with a total construction area of 1 million m2 and a total estimated investment of about 2.5 billion RMB [360 million USD]. After completion, the annual output value will be about 1.5 billion RMB [215 million USD]. Currently, the first greenhouse has been completed and put into production, the second one is about to be completed, and the other three have started construction. In the second phase of the plan, they will continue to build a modern intelligent greenhouse covering an area of over 3,000 hectares and 100 single greenhouses with 200,000 m2 each in the Minle Ecological Industrial Park. The total construction area is 20 million m2. The estimated total investment is about 45 billion RMB [6.5 billion USD]. The annual output value after completion can be estimated at about 30 billion RMB [4.3 billion USD]. The third phase of the project plans to build more modern smart greenhouses in suitable areas of the city, and strive to build a large-scale cluster-style modern facility agricultural industry system.
Haisheng Group Chairman Gao Liang said that accelerating the construction of the modern Silk Road cold and drought agricultural industrial park led by the Zhangye Haisheng Intelligent Greenhouse Industrialized Cultivation Ecological Demonstration Project will promote the modernization of the agricultural industry. In the next step, Haisheng Group will continue to promote the construction of 100 single 200,000 m2 high-tech smart greenhouses.
