In 2019, Morocco exported a total of 131.29 million kilos of peppers, 29.1% more than 5 years earlier, for which it received 118.66 million Euro, reaching an average price of € 0.904 / kg. This has been revealed by data from the Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency) processed by Hortoinfo.
Spain positioned itself as the largest customer for the peppers exported by Morocco, importing 44.99% of the total volume. It bought 59.06 million kilos worth 55.83 million Euro, with an average price of € 0.945 / kg.
France ranks second in the list of largest buyers of Moroccan peppers. In the past year, French importers bought a total of 32.51 million kilos of peppers from Morocco, which is 24.76% of the total, paying 29.18 million Euro, with an average price of € 0.898 / kg.
Germany is the third largest buyer of Moroccan peppers, with a total of 13.13 million kilos in 2019, 10% of the total volume exported by Morocco. German importers paid 14.27 million Euro for these shipments, with an average price of 1,087 € / kg.
