30MHz partners with Amazon Web Services for their data platform. Flavia Paganelli, co-founder and CTO, spoke about the reasons for the choice to work with AWS in a webinar. Sebastien Stormacq, Developer Evangelist, first told about AWS and what it does. "All industries are moving towards a data driven world," he said.
30MHz provides a platform for growers where everything can come together. The reasons that the company chose for AWS, are the following five:
- The variety of services, and the fast pace with which the company innovates
- Infrastructure as code; everything can be done via an application programming interface (API)
- Managed services; the company focuses less on scalability and more on functionality
- Activating startups
- Prototyping sessions, with which Amazon helps
"Our philosophy is to connect with everything out there, and Amazon helps us do just that." Everything meaning all devices in the greenhouse, from climate computer to irrigation systems. The company creates an open platform on which data can be shared, which works two ways. The companies behind the devices can profit from the collaboration as well.
