World Horti Center organizes second Summer Of Innovation

All summer long, the newest innovations in greenhouse horticulture will be prominently on display at the World Horti Center. Following on the 2019 edition, the ‘horticulture clubhouse’ will continue to shine a spotlight on innovations in the summer of 2020 through various temporary exhibitions as well as online and offline events scheduled to take place from 20 July to 4 September. Of course, the WHC will comply with the coronavirus measures drawn up by the Netherlands Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) throughout these activities.

A number of squares at the World Horti Center will be converted into a single exhibition plaza where a diversity of new models, concepts and innovations will be on display for small groups of visitors. The route will also take visitors along several highlights that are permanently on exhibit at the World Horti Center, such as the ingenious water area, the All Climate Greenhouse and various participants’ stands.

Apart from guided tours, the World Horti Center will organize various activities related to innovation in greenhouse horticulture. A number of Pizza@WHCs have been scheduled, which will be organized in conjunction with InnovationQuarter. Every session, at which delicious slices of pizza will be served, will focus on a current topic (e.g. digital safety in the greenhouse), which will be discussed with the attendees. The goal of this initiative is to bring interested parties together and allow them to brainstorm creatively with one another. In addition to this, we aim give each session a concrete follow-up from which new partnerships, ideas and innovations will emerge and be worked out in further detail.

More information will be available soon on www.worldhorticenter.nl. Are you interested in participating in the Summer Of Innovation? Let the World Horti Center know by sending an email to Diana Duijvestijn at projectbureau@worldhorticenter.nl.
