TEHMCO S.A. is a 40-year-old Chilean company specialized in the manufacture of plastic solutions, through its wide range of products, for the mining, health, agricultural and construction industries, among others. Having established a well-earned reputation of world-class service and developing state of the art products, Tehmco grew mainly in the mining and industrial sectors, eventually discovering there were other important niches that needed special attention. That is how – among others new lines of product in the field – Tehmco developed their line of film and mulch for agricultural use becoming a leading provider of pentalayer film for greenhouses in Chile and other countries.
Tehmco’s Penta-layer Technology, with selected additives, provides the right combination of strength, versatility and light transmission for every crop type. Due to the limitations of the Single-layer and Three-layer technology, being able to count with the technological advances which allow the manufacture of Penta-layer plastics, manages to combine different products and obtain 'custom made plastics' for the cover of greenhouses. For instance, in penta-layer technology, it is possible to select the degree of transmission of visible light, the amount of direct or diffused light, the intensity of the thermal effect, the blocking of UV radiation, the anti-drip effect, pathogen control improvement, even durability under extreme conditions, etc.
Tehmco is currently ISO 9001-2000 certified; GAI LAP GM 13 and GM 17 certification for Geo synthetics, Factory Mutual FM 150 and FM 200 certification for fire networks in HDPE, Bureau Veritas certification through quality seal, and in general Tehmco can certify their quality according to the standards of each country.
