Wageningen University organizes webinar on fresh food issues

First day:
Wageningen University and Research Center in the Netherlands and Jiangnan University in China will organize a series of online webinars related to future developments in the global fresh food industry. The webinars take place between May 28 and July 9. The third webinar in this series, entitled "Food Preservation and the Green Supply Chain", will take place on June 11. The discussion will center around fresh food supply chains, distribution of refrigerated agricultural products, new opportunities in this industry, and post-harvest processing of agricultural products. There will be a simultaneous translation in English and Chinese. Everybody is welcome to join!

Day two:
The Wageningen University and Research Center Cloud Series Youth Forum is organized by the Wageningen University and Research Center - Wageningen Preparation School. This forum aims to involve young students in an online discussion on global agriculture, food, and environment. The forum includes an online lecture series for young students, an exchange of learning techniques, and virtual tours. The forum is a colorful platform that combines educational exchange, work experience, and exhibits for young students in China and abroad.

The forum concentrates on educational discussions related to technology, supply chains, ecology, economic development, and points of interest for innovative management in agricultural food production and environmental protection. Young students will become familiar with revolutionary technologies in the field of food production and gain a greater understanding of the most advanced technological developments as well as the directions in the future of food production. The forum investigates possibilities in large-scale, technological industrialization and encourages young students across the globe to exchange viewpoints and work together. The forum also inspires a larger number of youths to dream of a future in agricultural food production.

The theme of this webinar is "AI Facilities: Digitization and Information-based Agriculture". This webinar will take place on June 12. The discussion will center around international competition in the automated greenhouse industry, innovative technology for data-driven plantation methods, and the role of sensors in monitoring product quality during the distribution process, as well as the development of 3D food printing technology and its application in the agricultural industry. During the time of this webinar, participants can also enjoy a virtual tour of the automated greenhouse UniFarm at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
