Wageningen University vertical farming facility near completion

Almost a year after signing the contracts, the construction of a research facility for indoor cultivation at the WUR in Bleiswijk is nearing completion. The installations are currently undergoing extensive testing, says Jan Willem de Vries. The intention is to start an initial cultivation round in mid-June so that research into indoor growing can really start from September.

This will be done in two multilayer cells and two cells for high-wire cultivation. Here light levels of up to 1500 micromoles can be achieved and the search for the best spectra can start.
