Priva computer system can now control Cravo retractable roof greenhouses and cooling houses

Cravo’s retractable roof technology allows fruit and vegetable growers in hot climates to produce high quality product, especially during times of the year when it is difficult to grow. The company has teamed up with Priva, a high-tech company that offers climate control, energy savings and optimal reuse of water. With both companies offering innovative solutions for the berry industry and for crops in hot climates, Priva has now integrated the Cravo Retractable Roof algorithms and sensors into their range of climate control computer systems – Compass, Compact CC and Connext.

In the past, growers who tried to use conventional greenhouse control algorithms to operate the Cravo retractable roofs found that the they could never achieve the full benefits of the retractable roofs but they could get good fertigation control. Growers who used the Cravo algorithms and sensors which had been developed over the last 18 years had to buy a separate irrigation controller resulting in them needing two separate control systems.

Now with Priva integrating the Cravo retractable roof control strategies, growers can now achieve optimal climate control using the retractable roofs and walls and optimal control of Priva fertigation units all in one integrated Priva control system. With both companies operating globally, the Priva computer system has now been installed in large berry operations in the UK and Australia, New Zealand and is currently being installed in two of the largest Cravo installations in India.
