As of the 1st of March 2020, Elektravon Horticulture has appointed a new Manager, Joost van Rooij. Joost has over 20 years of experience in national and international greenhouse horticulture and wants to expand Elektravon Horticulture utilizing export while keeping in mind ‘the established base of operations’.
Joost van Rooij
“During my studies, I already connected to the field of horticulture by attending the Higher Horticultural School in the Dutch town of Delft. It remains an amazing sector in which almost all techniques are used. The Netherlands is still one of the best in this field and sets an example to the rest of the world,” says Van Rooij, who has taken over from Ad van den Akker.
After selling his shares to De Groot Installations group last year, Ad is stepping down even further. “A trajectory which was already in motion, but in recent times still feels surprisingly odd,” says Ad.
Export
Elektravon Horticulture develops, delivers, and installs electrotechnical installations for greenhouse horticulture, which they have been doing for over 60 years on both a national and international level.
“Elektravon has a vision in mind for their growth over the years to come, with the accompanying professionalization. We will aim for expansions in our export but our established ‘base of operations’ will, of course, not be forgotten either! We have a large clientele which we want to maintain as well as realize further growth in the Netherlands,” says Joost van Rooij.
“Besides that, Elektravon has a strategic collaboration with Haket from the Dutch Wateringen, under the name Elektravon-Haket Ltd. which has a bright future ahead of it. Together, we can offer complete water & electrical installations. This future, we also see in a positive light.”
