New player in LED fixture market

There's a lot of knowledge on LED fixtures and therefore a lot to be taken into account when developing a new one. At Gavita they took up the gauntlet and are now launching their Wega LED fixture.

Mario Taal, sales manager Gavita: “With the knowledge from the sector and Gavita, we have designed a new fixture for LED light. We have taken into account the output, light recipe, housing, emission angle of light and passive cooling.”

With an output of 2130 µmol/s and a consumption of 660 Watt (preliminary), they have developed an LED fixture for the professional horticulture. Mario: "And this is only the beginning. The Wega LED portfolio will soon be expanded with different light spectra and with different outputs as well as a dimmable version."

The fixture has a patented design, so that the highest possible net output and optimal light distribution can be achieved. The fixture is easy to hang thanks to the integrated suspension, says Mario. "In addition, this LED fixture can replace a 1000 Watt HPS fixture 1 to 1 on the existing cabling. The Wega LED fixture can also be used in a hybrid setup, so for example together with HPS."

Housing
The Wega LED has a special housing. A lot of attention has been paid to the discharge of heat, says Mario. "The design of this fixture creates a so-called chimney effect of air flows, which translates to optimal cooling.

This LED fixture is a solution for growers who consider full LED or hybrid lighting. Saving energy by a 1 to 1 replacement or light increase with the current power consumption is possible."
