Urban Greenhouse Challenge goes online with Live Event

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Urban Greenhouse Challenge had to cancel its Alternative Site visit event in Amsterdam. The good news is that they were able to translate the most important elements of this event into an on-line programme consisting of Online speed-dates event (2 April) and Masterclass - Urban Greenhouse Live Event 2020 (8 April).

Online speed-dates
On 2 April, the top 20 Urban Greenhouse teams will get the opportunity to chat with 25 experts from 19 companies, in 109 online speed dates. These experts cover the fields of architecture, circularity, plant production systems, social aspects and business models. 5 vlogging teams will cover this event with short videos.

Masterclass - Urban Greenhouse Live Event 2020
This 2-2.5 hours long online session consisting of three inspiring presentations and live Q&A sessions will be moderated by Dutch science journalist Jan Meijroos (Mashable). The teams and everyone else watching will get an opportunity to meet following experts:

  • Tiffany Tsui (independent expert), with a lecture on consumer & business trends in China
  • Joris Lohman (Foodhub), with a lecture on food systems in transition
  • Imre Vellenga (Society Impact), with a lecture on innovative financing instrument: impact bonds
