Registrations had been blocked for over 10 days now and many researchers and operators had expressed doubts about taking part in the International Strawberry Symposium, which was to be held in Italy next May. For this reason, the organization reluctantly decided to postpone it until 2021.
"We inform everyone - wrote Bruno Mezzetti, university lecturer and contact person for the organizing committee on Saturday morning – that due to the spread of Covid-19 around the world, on Friday we took the sorrowful decision to reschedule the ISS2020 symposium. It was originally going to be hosted at the beginning of May 2020, but we were exposed to the risk of having no more participants."
The new agenda for May 2021 will be announced shortly. "It is with great sorrow and regret that we had to take this decision, after almost 4 years of organization. What is happening is beyond our expectations, and it is something bigger than us. The idea is to postpone it by exactly one year. We will provide all the detailed information very soon."
All abstracts and recordings will be kept until then. A refund policy will be announced for registered persons who choose to withdraw from participating next year.
