The Dutch company, Kompany is an active cooperative of and for its growers. As such, it focuses on continuity for its members. In doing so, Kompany follows social developments surrounding not only circular agriculture. It also follows trends in sustainability. As well as circular schools of thoughts and working methods. The responsible, effective processing of plant waste and green byproducts form part of this. Kompany has noticed that, in recent years, this part, in particular, has been coming under increased pressure. Costs for its members have also risen sharply.
With these developments in mind, it is, therefore, logical that this Dutch cooperative and its members went looking for structural, fitting solutions to this issue. This led to Kompany developing a vision. A vision for processing its producers' green waste streams. Kompany's starting point is that, in the long run, dealing with these streams itself is of utmost importance to businesses' continuity.
In the end, this approach led to a new company being established. It will give substance to context. This new business is called the Circulair Centrum Zuid (Southern Circular Centre). It will focus on receiving and processing green byproducts and plant and cultivation waste. In taking this step, Kompany offers a solution for the optimal processing of these residual streams. It will close the circle even.
Circulair Centrum Zuid will operate independently. It does not have to focus solely on Kompany members. Currently, the necessary preparations are being made. These are being done to get future activities off to a good start. In the coming period, the centre will focus mainly on acquiring the necessary equipment. It also needs to interpret the assignment correctly. To this end, discussions are being held with certain parties. Partnerships could be formed to work together on these solutions.
