HortEx week kicked off with trade mission

"Lam Dong can provide high-class produce of sub-tropical origins"

Tomorrow the HortEx will kick off in Vietnam. The trade show brings together horticultural and floricultural growers, suppliers and traders. Prior to the show many people are already visiting the Vietnamese industry and greenhouses. Amongst them several Dutch companies participating in a trade mission to Dalat. The focus is on Lam Dong city, the largest horti hub of Vietnam.

"The Lam Dong province is interesting for Dutch businesses due to its recent developments in high-tech agriculture and its higher-altitude location, it can provide high-class vegetable and flower production of sub-tropical origins", the organisers explain.

Therefore on the agenda are several visits. The participants were welcomed at Dalat Flower Association and visit companies in the region. In addition they could meet up with growers from the region and present themselves to local authorities and people with interest in the industry.

With 21 exhibitors the Netherlands is an important partner for the HortEx show. Last week Jan Hoogewoning with Ridder explained why many companies see opportunities in the market and how they can help them. Read the article here.
