Regional cucumber season started at Werder Frucht GmbH

Bountiful and successful campaign expected

In the greenhouse of Werder Frucht LLC in Bralitz (near Bad Freienwalde) in the state of Brandenburg, harvesting of lettuce and mini-cookies has begun. This year, affiliated gardeners are again expecting a bountiful and successful season.

Last year, 3500 tonnes of cucumbers were harvested from around 4.6 hectares of cultivated land. At the Bralitz site, cucumbers of the "Prolog" and "Lausanna" varieties are grown on 4.2 hectares and the "Picowell" miniature cucumber grow on 0.4 hectares.

Short transport routes
The cucumber is one of the most popular vegetables in Germany and Werder Frucht offers its cucumbers as piece goods in cartons, Ifco or EPS crates, depending on customer requirements. At Werder Frucht, short transport routes in the procurement of the goods and same-day or next-day delivery are important criteria that lead to high quality.
