Almería will once again be the tomato world capital next Saturday, February 22

The city of Almeria will become next Saturday, February 22, the world capital of tomato. It will do so with a massive event that serves every year to value the powerful star product of the fruit and vegetable sector of this Spanish province. This day has an international character, as Almería exports more than one billion kilos of tomatoes of different varieties to the world every year, being, by far, the most demanded product of the province.

Tomato Day will be organized by various fruit and vegetable companies in the province, local media such as La Voz de Almería and Cadena SER, and institutions such as the City Council of Almería, the Junta de Andalucía, the Provincial Council of Almería and Grupo Cajamar.

It is expected that thousands of people will meet throughout the day in the Paseo de Almería to enjoy a morning full of activities and news regarding other editions of this day.

Program
Tomato Day will begin at 10 am and will be extended throughout the morning until 3 pm. During that time, the Paseo de Almería will witness various activities such as healthy breakfasts, exhibitions, tastings of products, including different types of gazpachos, sale of tomatoes for solidarity, music, activities for the little ones or tributes to different personalities and business.

All this spectacle will be enlivened, in addition, by Tomatal, the mascot of this event, which has already become a classic of this party, as well as the Charanga of La Voz de Almería and the pet Vocito. All of them will liven up the morning with their dances, their music and their sense of humor.
