This certification is awarded to those greenhouse film manufacturing companies who follow stringent quality standards, safety and durability protocols in manufacturing of films confirming to IS 15827:2019.

Sharing his thoughts on the announcement, Shaildip Wagh Head – Agribusiness of Essen said that "receiving the BIS certification is in line with our mission to deliver highest quality greenhouse films by adopting global best practices. Further he added that the basic idea of the greenhouse is to provide optimum growing conditions for the plant. Heavy investment is made in making strong greenhouse structures with an objective of fixing plastic cover on them which in turn should protect the plant from unfavorable conditions like rain, insects and diseases. While the farmers spend 90 % and above to make the structure, it is not advisable to compromise on the quality of plastic film used for a small amount of money that one has to pay for a superior product. A proper selection of greenhouse covering film is of utmost importance to achieve better produce and in turn to get maximum profits. It is very necessary to understand the basic and advanced properties of the greenhouse covering films to select proper required covering film depending upon crop, topography of land, climatic condition etc.
