Product launches liven up Fruit Logistica on quiet first day

This morning in Berlin the Fruit Logistica kicked off. Over 200 horticultural suppliers are present to show their solutions on the show that originated as a show for the trading industry.

Talk of the day
The coronavirus. Many Chinese companies didn't make it to the show and all visitors had to sign a form stating they haven't been to Wuhan in the last two weeks, to guarantee the safety of the show. Disinfection gel is offered at the entrance and multiple people are spotted with face masks - even though virus experts say it might not do anything at all.

Novelties
New products at the trade show include LED fixtures and solutions at Signify and at Oreon. A reactor to make biological fertilizers at your farm is presented at Van der Knaap

Of course there are plenty of other products and companies to be seen at Fruit Logistica. We're there to take a look at everything, and a photo report will follow after the show. For now, here's a sneak peek:

This spring, Certhon's Innovation Center will be expanded. Pictured here are Jeffrey van der Sande, Martin Veenstra and Edwin Vanlaerhoven.

The Cravo team were in good spirits. Their retractable roof technology meant the first harvest of cannabis at a Lesotho operation was completed ahead of schedule.
