There is an increasing interest among companies that work with automated logistics systems for transport containers with a smooth surface at the bottom. These transport containers with a smooth bottom are able to move much more smoothly over an automated conveyor belt, roller conveyors or chain conveyor. Without the stacking edge, stacking can be done more smoothly, resulting in far fewer issues, downtime and breakage.
Type 8201 and 8202
This new range of products also responds to the demand for transport containers with the weight of the transport containers originating from the europool system. Because many companies already work with pool packaging, the machines with which they work are set to this specific weight. The existing containers from Beekenkamp (art. 8256/2 and art. 8256/3) have a different weight, but in this new line we have developed a transport container low and transport half-high with ribbed bottom which have an equal weight to the pool packaging, so that we can also provide these companies with their own packaging. The ribbed bottom is also adjusted without stacking edges so that it runs more flexibly over automated conveyor belts, roller conveyors and chain conveyors.
Beekenkamp is introducing four new variants:
- Low transport container with smooth bottom, type 8201
- Low transport container with ribbed bottom, type 8202 (eps weight)
- Half-height transport container with smooth bottom, type 8203
- Half-height transport container with ribbed bottom, type 8204 (eps weight)
Type 8202
Beekenkamp Verpakkingen continues to carry the two existing variants of low transport containers, type 8256/2 and half-height transport container, type 8256/3 in its range. The half-height transport bin type 8256/3 remains the most suitable for customers who already use this type of transport container and work with an automation based on weight. Transport container 8256/2 can be replaced with the new type 8201 transport container layer with smooth bottom. The weight of these two types of containers are the same.
The new types of transport containers 8201, 8202, 8203, 8204 can be stacked with the existing transport buckets types 8256/2, 8256/3, 8256/4.
Type 8203
Transport containers are produced from new HDPE material and are very suitable for the internal and external logistics of fresh products. All transport trays can be produced in a colour of your choice. The option for coloured printing of your logo or slogan is also possible on the two long sides of the containers.
Beekenkamp will present the new transport containers during the Fruit Logistica in Berlin, hall 1.2 stand D-09.
