The biggest Russian tomato paste producer LLC APC Astrakhansky (Astrakhan region) will allocate 26 million euro within 6 years on expansion of the acreage required for tomato growing, announced the general director of the enterprise, Mr. Isa Dakayev.

“The production has reached the projected capacity. Additional acreage is required for crop rotation. In order to put new soil in circulation, minimum 4.3 million euro is required annually, i.e. over 26 million euro within the six year period”, noted Mr. Isa Dakayev after the Investment Council at the governor of Astrakhan region meeting.

According to the decision made by the Council, Astrakhansky will receive 11 land plots as a measure of state support bypassing auction and tender procedures.

It is planned once the internal market is saturated with local vegetables, to start exporting the produce to the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Currently, the company produce takes 30% of the market and after the plan has been carried out, the share will comprise 50%.

Currently, the enterprise’s acreage in the village Zavolzhskoe of Kharabalinsk area in Astrakhan region covers 236.8 thousand square meters and includes a greenhouse for growing seedlings and production facilities with the annual productivity of 370 thousand tomatoes a year.
